Bill Walsh in Bulldog blue

Bill Walsh, wearing number 77, played quarterback for CSM from 1951-52. He then transferred to San Jose State in 1953. After Graduating, he began an outstanding coaching career, becoming a head coach at Stanford University before being hired by the San Francisco 49ers. From 1979-1988 Mr. Walsh won three Superbowls. Diagnosed with leukemia in 2004, the NFL Hall-of-Famer died on July 30, 2007 of the disease. He was 75.
