They easily beat Sierra 4-0, and were also able to beat ninth ranked Butte 2-1.
The Bulldog's winning streak became even more impressive on Feb. 14 with a 12-1 victory over Chabot College.
CSM's pitching staff of Nicole Guttormsen and Michelle Tatting had a great game and nearly produced a shutout, giving up only one run in the final inning.
"Nicole and Michelle are great," said CSM Softball Head Coach Nicole Borg. "They poured their heart into the team this year, and trained all summer long. They made an all out commitment to getting better."
CSM's offense looked great as well, scoring 12 runs in only four innings and forcing the game to come to an early end.
Although the Bulldogs have been playing great so far, there is still room for improvement.
"We need to be more disciplined and get hits in clutch situations," said Borg.
After playing with only 10 players on the roster last season and finishing with a 19-19 record, the Bulldogs Softball program has been revamped with 10 new freshmen.
"Our sophomores have done a great job showing the freshmen what to do," said Borg. "They feel they were cut short by their finish last season, so they have really put in a lot of time."
The Bulldogs hard work and determination has been paying off. They are now 2-0 in conference play and 8-2 overall.
