Helen Souranoff, theater events director, vocalist, accomplished musician, and as of March 31, 2007, local star.

Two of her instrumental pieces, "Saira and Humm" and "The Professional 2" were premiered at Tamara Diaghilev's "The Legacy;" the third part in a series of spiritual healing seminars.
She met Diaghilev through a friend and was prompted by her to send over some music she had done.

From there Diaghilev decided to use some of Souranoff's pieces in her seminar.

Souranoff, the CSM theater events manager director, is also the vocalist for the faculty-band "The Bulldawgs."

On campus, she works closely with the Student Activities Office to coordinate on campus events.

Off campus, she does some percussion and is learning the keyboards. When asked she first took an interest in music she answered, "Ever since I can remember."

Souranoff also composes music mostly for soundtracks, underscores, ambient and some techno.

So far her music has only been used for classes, but she has done some studio work in the past. She does not have a CD out yet, but one is in the works and could be out as early as next fall.

For Souranoff, what she enjoys most about making and performing music is, "How it affects people, and just how you make the listener feel."
