The person in charge of this event is Ron Visconti, a part-time CSM career counselor and long-time job fair coordinator.
"I have been putting on job fairs within the Bay Area for about 24 years now," said Visconti.
There are three reasons why students should consider attending this event. It can allow the students to find immediate employment at local businesses within the area, further their interest in a specific field, or enlighten them about a career field that they may not have been aware of up until this point in time, said Visconti.
All of the participating businesses are more than willing to provide long-term career information even if students attending the job fair don't have a particular agenda upon entrance. The students are more than welcome to question any of the businesses about careers of possible interest.
"The idea behind the Autumn Job Fair is to help match students with employment and internships," said Bryan Besnyi, an office assistant in student services.
There will be an estimated 70 businesses and resources present at this event. An interactive environment will be provided for all those in attendance.
"It would be great if applicants could bring resumes along with them, or even take it a step further by engaging the employer and asking questions," said Visconti.
There will be a variety of businesses that will be represented at the job fair including retail, law enforcement, security firms, childcare, banking, social services, as well as tutorials, said Visconti.
Although the job fair focuses primarily upon the students here at CSM, the doors are open to anyone within the community who is interested in attending.
